Shutes Branch Recreation Area is the public boat ramp on Old Hickory Lake, about twenty minutes from downtown Nashville. The lake covers 22,500 acres across Davidson, Sumner, Wilson, and Trousdale counties, with open water past the no-wake zones near Hendersonville and Old Hickory.

$100 plus tax refundable deposit holds your slot. Card kept on file as pre-auth for damage.
- 03Meet at the ramp
Arrive at Shutes Branch ramp 30 minutes before your start time. We will have the boat in the water and the orientation ready.
Open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Open on Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day. Phone is on 24/7 to confirm time slots.

Renter Requirements
- 01Primary renter must be 21 or older with a valid driver's license.
- 02Anyone born after January 1, 1989 must show a Tennessee Boating Safety Certificate. The TWRA course is free online; we send the link when you book.
- 03No drugs or alcohol on board. Operating a personal watercraft under the influence is a Tennessee state offense and forfeits your deposit.
- 04Minimum operator age is 16 (12 with a licensed adult onboard).
- 05No towing of tubes, wakeboards, or skiers.
Safety & Lake Rules
Lake rules and no-wake zones
Old Hickory Lake is patrolled by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. Most rental disputes come down to no-wake violations, so we go over the rules with you on-site before you launch.
- 01Idle or no-wake speed within 300 feet of shore, docks, and anchored boats.
- 02All riders under 13 must wear a life jacket at all times.
- 03Lanyard kill switch must be attached to the operator's wrist or PFD.
- 04Operate in daylight only. PWC operation after sunset is prohibited in Tennessee.
- 05Weather policy: thunderstorms or unsafe conditions mean reschedule or full refund.
